Mekonomen makes CarLife easier
Mekonomen offers a broad and an easily accessible range of value-for-money and innovative solutions and products for consumers and companies. Mekonomen is Scandinavian leading spare-parts chain with proprietary wholesale operations. At the end of september 2011, Mekonomen had 328 stores, of which 224 wholly owned and 104 partnerships. The number of affiliated workshops was 1,621, of which 1,009 as Mekonomen Service Centre, 389 as MekoPartner, 212 as BilXtra and 11 as Speedy. The affiliation means that Mekonomen does not own the workshops but has a cooperation agreement with them. Stores and workshops are located throughout Scandinavia.
At the centralised warehouse in Strängnäs, there are approximately 67,000 articles for 5,000 car models. Through cooperation with contract suppliers that deliver directly to the stores, Mekonomen has access to an additional 400,000 products.
During 2010, revenue for the Group amounted to SEK 3,447 M, operating profit was SEK 485 M and the number of employees was 1,462.

Mekonomen had 30,868,822 shares outstanding on 31 December, 2010 distributed among 8 024 shareholders. Axel Johnsson AB with subsidiaries owns 29 per cent of the shares and the ten largest shareholders represent 58,1 per cent of the number of shares and votes.
